QUI-LUN

An Oil Mill, a Family

This story begins with Vittorio Gaudenzi immediately after the war
and continues today with his son and his grandchildren: Francesco and his wife
Rossana, their children Andrea and Stefano. And, coincidentally, oil is the common thread of their lives and their family. This is a story made of
love for the land and decisive choices; of dedication and passion in craft production of extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality.

Quinta Luna

Among the various intuitions of Francesco and Rossana, perhaps the best is this, Quinta Luna. In order to study the behaviour of the varieties based on harvest times, in 2007 they anticipate the harvest of a month, after exactly 5 moons from flowering. Thus, was born one of the most appreciated oils of our Oil Mill.

What kind of oil is it
It is an intense and fragrant oil. Anticipating the harvest, the hints of almond and red fruits give way to artichoke, notes of freshly cut grass and olive leaves. The bitter and the spicy are more pronounced but incredibly they still remain in perfect balance between them.

1950

1950

Grandfather Vittorio’s firstborn, this oil is born with his Oil Mill. Obviously before it was called Gaudenzi Oil, but after so many years of history we decided to put a face to this historic oil. Here is the 1950 label, the date of birth of the Gaudenzi Oil Mill.

What kind of oil is it
1950 is a blend using all the varieties available in the company, with different percentages from year to year in order to obtain the product we have in mind. The olives are strictly harvested after November 2nd, as per tradition. The resulting oil is balanced, of medium intensity and with strong notes of sweet almond.

Chiuse di sant’ Arcangelo

When Francesco and Rossana took over the management of the company, the first investment they made is the purchase of an olive grove composed exclusively of olive trees Moraiolo. The olive grove is 600 meters above sea level, at the edge of the forest near an ancient church that takes the name from Sant’Arcangelo. The altitude and the incredible sun exposure of the plants make it one of the best oils in the mill.

What kind of oil is it
Chiuse di Sant’Arcangelo is a single-variety oil made exclusively with the Moraiolo olives of Sant’Arcangelo. It is soft in the nose with well pronounced artichoke notes and a very fresh herbaceous note. In the mouth instead, the Moraiolo is felt with all its strength and the bitterness and spiciness are intense and persistent.

6 Novembre

In 2008 Vittorio Gaudenzi left us and two years later, for

the 60th anniversary of the activity he founded, this bottle is born in his memory. The name “6 Novembre ”refers to his date of birth and contains every year, among all those produced, the Gaudenzi family’s favourite oil.

What kind of oil is it

6 Novembre is a blend of our cultivars in different proportions each year, processed according to our sensations and our taste. This allows us to express our passion in a creative way.

Casa Lontana

Casalontana is the name of the historic olive grove of the Gaudenzi Oil Mill and it is here that we have chosen to produce the certified oil as DOP Umbria.

What kind of oil is it
Moraiolo, Frantoio and Leccino are the three varieties composing it, but in this case the blend is given to the field. What do we mean? That the olives of the olive grove are harvested and processed all together thus making the oil less balanced and more angular. Ideal for lovers of Umbrian oils.
